Okay, I'm sure there will be a bunch of discussions after this anyways but lets rumble.
Besides gaming and wasting my time, WTF is a pc good for. If you bring out your little thing about price, I can go and get a Linux computer for even cheaper. I haven't had to use a program to clean spyware, adware, or viruses the entire life of my mac (I switched a little over a year ago).
I just find Windows to be... I dunno... I grew up on the damn thing, and I still use the oldest-looking style setup, even though I'm on XP. I was a DOS-prompt pusher back when I had olde-tyme games...
I just like the original layout of Windows better, even better than Vista's new thing. Whenever I go on a Mac it feels all foreign, like I'm on a road trip without a map...
*insert more deep, psychological crap that nobody cares about here*
I'm with you and I do like XP; but, with the way Windows is going (Vista) I can't really support it anymore. I've been a big promoter of Windows for most of computing life. It is time people move onto better systems.
I swear, Vista was designed by a woman; all I saw was a shitload of excessive artsy-fartsy stuff, like fade-in pop-up windows and crap. Who cares? Old, gray, and functional is my motto.
Hay I like both, I have a Windows at home for gaming, and I use a mac at school, because they arew better for graphics programs like flash, photoshop etc
First of all, Vista rocks. No, seriously. It does.
Second of all, I have gotten a grand total of one virus on this computer, and it was easily removed in fifteen minutes. You just need to not be a dumbass and don't download everything you see, then PC users won't get viruses.
Exactly, most people that complain are retards that download shit from un-trusted sites that are up there for the soul purpose of giving you're computer viruses.
If you are smart enough not to be a dumbass on the internet you won't get viruses.
Virus & Adware has gotten smart for even the average computer user who knows what to download. There was a big advertising network a couple of months back that one of their banner ads was installing adware in peoples computers, they had numbers of over 15 million computers infected. I watch what I download and try and keep it clean; but, my computer still needs to be reinstalled once a year. Or atleast it did, until I moved to a mac.
My Windows machine actually jacks me off. Physically.
Other than that, PC does what I need it to. I can write on it, surf the web, play games, communicate with friends and family, check my email, buy stuff...so on and so forth.
I'm a firm believer that you should get what's right for you. A PC is simply a better choice for what I do. If you do work that would be best done on a Mac, get a Mac.
The virus/adware thing is not really a strong point. PCs and Macs are machines, and both are susceptible to malware. It's as simple as that.
I find the whole debate a little silly, to be honest. Some prefer boxers, some prefer briefs. Again, whatever works better for you.
If anyones talking about Windows vista its awsomeMy dad got me a PackardBell with windows vista and improved gaming graphics but i dont think a mac has windows vista but if everyone know that send me a stupid comment.
oohh you have trouble with viruses thats why we changes computers man 1162 viruses we had to spend £32 on protection and it still didnt work and its £ not $ im from England lol.
You know that wonderfully brilliant thing called Open Source? Well, Windows isn't, but it's much closer to it than Mac is. Mac is for stupid people that are incapable of running a PC without a babysitter. They sit there, incapable of running most 3rd party software, not doing anything but word processing, mp4 playing, video editing, and slideshow making. Worthless pieces of shit.
Meanwhile, all other operating systems are kicking ass. Windows allows lots of third party developers to make whatever suits their fancy. Sure, there are viruses, but how is that Microsoft's problem?
1. I know how to use one 2. I'm not an idiot, thus I do not get virusz etc. 3. I play games 4. Office 2007 devours the ass of any competition 5. 3rd party programs 6. Customization
A Mac is good for the computer illiterate, the artistically oriented, or anyone who doesn't really play on doing much outside of music, movies, pictures, and the internet.
A Windows PC is good for gamers, business types, and those who want to use their computer often and for everything.
